Let’s talk,🩸!

For many, getting a period means reaching into a cabinet stocked with what they need. For others, it means making difficult choices—going without, missing school or work, or feeling shame around a completely natural part of life.

That’s why National Menstrual Hygiene Day—recognized globally each year on May 28—matters.

Why May 28?

The date symbolizes the average menstrual cycle:

  • 5th month (May) = average 5 days of bleeding

  • 28th day = average 28-day cycle

This day exists to break stigma, raise awareness, and advocate for menstrual health, hygiene education, and equitable access to period products. While the official observance is May 28, our community celebration will take place on Sunday, May 31—because access, dignity, and healing don’t expire after one date on the calendar.
